What if my painting arrives damaged?
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact me immediately if the item is damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
All work is carefully packed and wrapped. If work arrives damaged, please take photos and refuse delivery. If you have accepted delivery, please photograph the outer box and inside layers as you unpack the art. And photograph the damage to the art.
What if my painting arrives and I don't like it?
I want you to be happy with your art. I do offer a Buy-Back agreement. You have a 5 days to contact me by email and request a return. Shipping costs
You are responsible for shipping costs unless you are returning an item because it was defective or it wasnβt the item you ordered (in which case we would pay for shipping).
What are your paintings made of?
Tha paintings are primarily acrylic paint. Dimensional areas can be a variety of materials, some paper, and other items such as glass, ceramic or wood. At all times, I make every effort to create an archival piece which will be around for years and decades.
At times, there could also be graphite or other materials. All pieces coated and varnished to protect the surface from elements and UV light as best as possible. It is recommended that paintings be hung out of direct sunlight as although every effort is made to protect the colors, there is no way to gurantee that colors won't fade in bright sun.
Is the painting framed?
It varies.
Paintings on cradled wood usually have a contemporary handpainted or stained wood edges. Many people like this contemporary look and hang them like this.
All pieces, even cradled wood can be framed. Most are unframed because many have a personal preference for the color of the frame. Framing options may be something we add to the site, but right now, that can easily be done with your local framer.
Will my painting be ready to hang?
YES. All paintings are varnished with finished sides. On the back there are d-rings and picture wire ready to hang. I recommend using professional picture hooks made to hang art (by weight) and make the least mark on walls.
Especially on larger pieces, using two picture hooks a distance apart (about a third of the width of the painting) will keep a painting from 'shifting' when doors are slammed or other vibrations occur.
Wrapping and packing or can my piece be rolled?
The majority of my pieces are on cradled boards. So there is no rolling. Pieces are carefully packed with lots of padding to prevent damage as much as we possibly can. But, one never knows what a piece might go through. We are here if something happens enroute to you. Often a piece can be repaired. Don't panic if damage during shipping occurs. Contact me immediately. We want you to have a fabulous piece of art in your home.
Can I pick up at your studio?
Of course you can pick the piece up at the studio. We can email details and directions and arrange the best time. When buying online, if you are within a specific distance, it will give you the choice to pick up. If you are further out but would like to pick it up, use the code PICKUP and shipping will not be charged.
What carriers do you use to ship?
I do not use USPS. There is too much potential for damage. When in the US, most often the carrier will be FedEx or UPS. I typically ship to arrive within a few days so the painting is not sitting in a warehouse for too long. Any questions about shipping on your order, please contact me.
How much is shipping?
Most artwork has estimated shipping costs (you will see when you check out) that should be a good. This is based on the size and location. At the current time, shipping costs can vary significantly. If the actual cost is more than quoted I reserve the right to discuss this with you and refuse the sale if necessary.
What about shipping on large pieces?
All my works are important. Large pieces can require more to pack and ship. It's important for both of us that it is transported safely. Some may require special shipping and will need to be quoted separately. If you want to secure the piece, go ahead and buy online, and I will email a shipping quote. Then we can discuss and I will arrange the shipping and bill separately for that.
Do you ship Internationally?
We will do whatever we can to get a piece to you. International shipping will be handled individually. There can be many layers which are out of our control.... customs, crating specs, shipping costs, etc.
What is the process for having a custom piece of art created?
I will have more info to explain this process soon. In the meantime, if you are thinking of having a painting created, please contact me.
Do you offer prints?
Right now, there are some third party suppliers providing prints of my work. I do not know who is purchasing. In the near future I hope to offer prints and decor items.
